A 10-year-old boy killed his mom

A 10-year-old Wisconsin boy killed his mom, shooting her to death because the mother refused to buy him a gaming system headset.

All through the hearing, the boy’s lawyer Atty Angela Cunningham asked that the boy’s bond be lowered from $50,000 to $100, as this is all the boy has in his piggy banks.

“My team and I have spoken to him about his ability to post anything,” Cunningham told the court, according to WTMJ-TV. “He told us about piggy banks with savings that he had from gifts, from birthday gifts, and scavenging through cushions in the couch that he’s been able to save up.”

The complaint showed that on Nov. 21, Quiana Mann, 44, the 10-year-old boy killed his mom with a shot in the eye allegedly at close range inside her Milwaukee home. After the shooting, the boy tried to hide the gun, and then told his older sister that their mother was dead. The sister called 911.

Detectives narrated based on the boy’s testimony that he took out the gun because he was angry at his mom for waking him up 30 minutes early and because he was upset that she has refused to buy the headset he wanted from Amazon.

A day after the killing, the boy logged into his dead mother’s Amazon account and bought the Oculus Virtual Reality Headset, the complaint alleges.

Why did boy kill the mom?

The complaint likewise detailed what family members have told detectives that the boy has “rage issues.” When he was four years old, he held his puppy by the tail and whirled him around until the puppy “whined and howled in pain.” He also allegedly started a fire in their home by filling a balloon with a flammable liquid.

A family member also told investigators the little boy “has five different imaginary people that talk to him.” These imaginary people are described as two sisters, an old lady, and two men.

The child has been charged as an adult with first-degree reckless homicide and an alternative charge of first-degree intentional homicide. He is currently being held on a $50,000 bond.
