Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo spotted in Our Tampines Hub, fans share “best day of their lives”

Singapore – A surprise visit to Singapore by Cristiano Ronaldo to Our Tampines Hub filled  hundreds of fans with joy as they waited to to catch a glimpse of the football superstar.

On July 3 (Wednesday), the Juventus forward was spotted at the south plaza of Our Tampines Hub.

While fans did not know the exact time he would arrive, they knew that something was up based on the security guards and barriers present in the area.

By 3 pm, a throng of fans and bystanders had formed.

Many went to social media to share their experience, including Our Tampines Hub.

“Hot off the press! We’re excited to warmly welcome Juventus Forward and Captain of the Portugal National Team, Cristiano Ronaldo to Our Tampines Hub. We hope you’ll enjoy your visit to Singapore’s first and largest integrated community and lifestyle hub!” said Our Tampines Hub on their Facebook Page.

In the comments section, they wrote, “Yes! Ronaldo is indeed visiting us today. However, we are currently not at liberty to divulge any further details.”

Many fans responded and asked for clues as to the time he will visit.

A certain Farhan Angullia was able to visit the premises but was not allowed to enter an area as “it was a private event.” The event was held at the futsal court at 2 pm, according to Facebook user Din Labu.

For others, a mere glimpse was enough.

“Ronaldo actually waved at me! Best day of my life,” wrote Twitter user @RahimieDanish.

A few minutes later, he uploaded another video of Ronaldo in a bright orange shirt, white shorts and slippers, casually strolling with a drink in hand.

“omfg guys I actually can’t believe I saw Cristiano Ronaldo…” tweeted the star-struck fan.

Cristiano looked up amused as fans could be heard screaming his name and his victory war cry “Siiii!”

It is understood that the football legend arrived in Singapore on July 2 (Tuesday) and met up with his “good friend” billionaire Peter Lim.

Ronaldo posted the following Instagram story with the caption, “Good news coming soon!”

Ronaldo has been to Singapore a few times in the past at the request of Lim.

In 2013, the billionaire flew in the football superstar as a marquee guest for his Singapore Olympic Foundation-Peter Lim Scholarship initiative.

In 2017, Ronaldo zipped in and out of Singapore to visit Lim’s daughter Kim who had given birth to a son.

His stay is expected to last until July 5 (Friday).

The Juventus forward is expected to play during the Juventus vs Tottenham Hotspur game at the International Champions Cup (ICC) which is happening on July 20 and 21 at the National Stadium. -/TISG
