Kourtney Kardashian of Keeping Up with the Kardashians fame just posted an ad for her lifestyle brand Poosh, featuring her in a bikini showing her stretch marks – and her fans are loving it.
The reality TV star, model and entrepreneur is throwing out society’s body standards by posting an unedited image of herself on Instagram.
Kourtney is known for the wildly popular reality TV show on E!, Keeping Up with the Kardashians in which cameras follow around her, her mum Kris Jenner and four sisters Kim Kardashian West, Khloe Kardashian, Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner.
She is the eldest of the Kardashian/Jenner sisters and she just launched her very own brand Poosh, a lifestyle website that features topics such as health and wellness, life and style, interior design, beauty, motherhood, and more.
The mother of three uploaded a photo of herself posing in a bathing suit on the official Poosh Instagram.
She posed on the back of a boat wearing a black one-piece bathing suit, accessorised with a sun hat and sunglasses.
What caught the eye of people were the stretch marks in the photo.
The Poosh ad was for fitness columnist Amanda Lee’s step-by-step fitness guide and the photo drew a lot of attention because Kourtney didn’t edit out the stretch marks that appeared on her upper thigh and hip.
Fans were loving the fact that Kourtney was being so real and honest about her flaws.
Hundreds of comments praised the star for being so open and not abiding by societal beauty standards.
One fan thanked Kourtney for being so honest, writing, “Thank you so much for not editing out your stretch marks!!”
Kourtney then replied to the comment by saying, “I love my little stripes.”
There are many comments – predominantly women – replying that the image is helping them embrace their stretch marks more now because of the picture.
One wrote, “A real picture… love seeing the stretch marks. That’s natural and I respect that so much more than airbrush.”
One fan pointed out that this is the first time fans have ever seen any of the Kardashian sisters embracing their stretch marks.
The stretch marks make sense since Kourtney’s brand Poosh is about life, wellness, health and motherhood.
The star isn’t afraid to be honest with her audience and fans are excited about the change in beauty standards that this Keeping Up with the Kardashian star is making.
It seems Kourtney is inspiring fans to live their best life by embracing stretch marks and pushing the norm for beauty standards. -/TISG
