Lisa of BLACKPINK donates to help flood victims in Thailand

Lisa from South Korean’s girl group BLACKPINK has reportedly donated to flood victims in the northeastern region of Thailand which wrecked havoc in the region.

Based on Yonhap News, local Thai media outlets have reported that Lisa donated 100,000 baht to help the flood victims.

One of Lisa’s relatives posted a band transfer receipt on Twitter and wrote, “Lisa hopes that this can be even a bit of help towards aiding those suffering because of the flood.”

It’s reported that Thai prime minister Prayut Chan-o-cha also donated the amount of 100,000 baht to relief efforts for the flood victims.

Born as Pranpriya Manoban and later changed her name to Lalisa Manoban, Lisa, who is more commonly known is a Thai rapper, singer, dancer and model based in South Korea.

She is part of the South Korean girl group BLACKPINK under YG Entertainment.

Lisa was born in the Buriram Province Thailand and is the only child of her Thai mother and Swiss stepfather who works as a restaurant consultant and Thai food expert based in Bangkok.

She completed her secondary education at Praphamontree School 1 and 2.

Lisa was interested in K-pop since her childhood, admiring artists like Big Bang and 2NE1, wishing, someday, to follow down a similar path.

In early 2009, Lisa participated in a singing contest as a school representative for “Top 3 Good Morals of Thailand” hosted by the Moral Promotion Center.

Lisa finished as a runner-up. She also competed in many dance contests including “To Be Number One”.

Soon after, Lisa joined the dance crew We Zaa Cool, consisting of eleven members including BamBam of Got7.

In September 2009, they entered the competition LG Entertainment Million Dream Sanan World broadcast on Channel 9, and won the “Special Team” Award.

In 2010, Lisa auditioned to join YG Entertainment in Thailand.

Among the 4,000 applicants, Lisa was the only individual to pass. She officially joined the label as their first foreign trainee on April 11, 2011. In March 2015, Lisa undertook her first modelling job for street-wear brand Nona9on, following South Korean cosmetics brand Moonshot in 2016.
