Now that its confirmed that Netflix’s superhit series Squid Game will be returning for a second season, its creator Hwang Dong-hyuk has revealed which characters will be back.

Hwang revealed that Lee Jung-Jae’s Gihun and Lee Byung-hun’s The Front Man will be returning for the sophomore season. “Gi-hun for sure. He will be back and I believe the Front Man will be back too,” Hwang said.

Though the plot details remain sketchy, the announcement that these two characters will be returning is unsurprising as the first season concluded with Gi-hun, who is the only survivor of the game, vowing to put an end to the annual life-or-death tournament.

Hwang also said that the themes that were present in the show such as the economic polarity will continue to be part of the series going forward.
