Royal author, biographer and former journalist Tom Bower has said that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are a pair of scrounges.
He spoke of an unusual situation where the pair were trying to land a free holiday and the use of a private jet at a beachside mansion.

In a similar vein, he said that the royal couple’s constant demand for expenses had angered Spotify bosses and that is why their £18m podcast contract was cancelled.
Speaking to GB news’ Dan Wooton he said, “They are scrounges, the Sussexes. I heard this particular story which is extraordinary which is that [sic] Harry and Meghan were invited to this sun-kissed place by the beach, they were staying for a couple of days and arrived in the host’s private jet as usual…
“They heard that someone else who was there was quite an interesting person and also had a beautiful house by a beach and Meghan went up to her and said, ‘Let’s talk, let’s become friends.’
In a surprising revelation, it has been reported that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle approached a woman to borrow her house and even asked if they could use her private jet.
According to sources, the couple reached out to this woman, whom they knew, seeking favors in the form of accommodations and transportation. The woman was initially taken aback by their requests but eventually agreed to lend them her house.
However, their audacity didn’t stop there, as Harry called again the next day, this time asking if they could also use her private jet. This incident sheds light on what critics describe as the couple’s continuous search for freebies and perks, which reportedly led to tensions with their business partners, including Spotify and Netflix.
Bower said that the couple require at least three to four million a year to pay their overheads.
