According to a source speaking to The Messenger, Hadid and Cooper were initially introduced through Irina Shayk and their shared connections in the industry. Although they had crossed paths previously, their connection deepened when they found common ground in their roles as parents.

The source said that the two models became friends via their work and although Hadid and Cooper have had communicated before, it was only friendly. Lately, they reconnected, bonded over their shared experiences as parents and then Cooper asked Hadid out.
