Troubled singer Britney Spears had a ‘manic’ meltdown at an LA restaurant on Friday which led to her husband Sam Asghari leaving the restaurant.
Insiders who were present during the meltdown at Joey in Woodland Hills, California told TMZ that Spears, 41 was ‘manic’ and began speaking gibberish.
She was being recorded by patrons at the establishment which was what triggered the singer. In a clip obtained by TMZ, Spears is seen holding up a menu to shield her face from the camera.
Meltdown forced Asghari out of restaurant
Insiders said that Asghari, 28 was “visibly upset” and “stormed out” of the place without his wife. Two minutes later, his wife walked out of the restaurant while her bodyguard paid for the bill.
The restaurant manager told Page Six that they could not “disclose any information” or confirm the couple was there.
It is no secret that Spears have been struggling with mental health issues especially due to the stresses of her 13-year conservatorship. This has probably contributed to the meltdown.
Britney Spears suffers from bipolar disorder
The Everytime singer was reportedly diagnosed with bipolar disorder but has spoken out on social media and in court about allegedly being held at a mental health facility against her will and being forced to take medications.
Spears and Ashgari were able to tie the knot in June 2022 despite Spears’ hardships. They had a fairytale wedding at the Grammy winner’s home in California with celebrity guests, including Paris Hilton, Selena Gomez, Drew Barrymore, Madonna and more.
Spears and Ashgari are generally very private but have occasionally shown a very united front on social media.
Sam Ashgari does not control Spears according to him
To celebrate his wife’s birthday in December, Asghari posted a video on Instagram of all the special things he did to commemorate his wife on her special day, including taking her out to eat and showering her with gifts and balloons.
Asghari shot down skeptics’ claims that he “controls” Spears, telling TMZ at the time, “No, I don’t even control what we have for dinner.”
“You know, in the past, there has been a lot of stuff going on, so I understand where [fans are] coming from,” the model added.
“They’re just being protective. If anything, they’re being good fans.”
Asghari is not a fan of Spears’ topless photos
Nevertheless the pair has hinted a few times that not everything is smooth sailing in their relationship.
Spears admitted in November that she wasn’t totally “present” during her wedding to Asghari and the Iranian actor has also said that he is not a fan of his wife’s topless photos online.
The couple has not directly addressed the recent restaurant incident on their social media.
