Victoria’s Secret model Gisele Bundchen is at loggerheads with hubby Tom Brady over his decision to continue to play football in the NFL after retiring.
The reversal of Brady’s decision to retire has led to a huge fight with her leaving the family compound in Tampa for a trip to Costa Rica.
“There’s been trouble in the marriage over his decision to un-retire. Gisele has always been with the kids. They had agreed he would retire to focus on the family, then he changed his mind,” said one source.
Another insider claims that Bundchen is the problem as she is ‘hot-headed’ and that she is resentful of his football superstar status.
His decision to retire came from the fact that his wife had expressed dissatisfaction with the marriage as she had to man the fort while he would be playing football all season.
He told Howard Stern in an interview in 2020 that his wife didn’t feel “he was doing his part for the family” and ‘felt like I would play football all season and she would take care of the house. She wasn’t satisfied with our marriage. So I needed to make a change in that. Her point was ‘Well, yeah, of course this works for you. But it doesn’t work for me.”
Brady who is a quarterback with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers said he announced his retirement in February but 40 days later reversed his decision.
“These past months I’ve realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands. That time will come. But it’s not now. I love my teammates and I love my supportive family. They make it all possible. I’m coming back for my 23rd season in Tampa. Unfinished business LFG,” he had tweeted.
However he didn’t show up for training in August.
When asked why he didn’t attend training his reply in a video was, “It’s all personal. You know everyone’s got different situations they’re dealing with. So we all have really unique challenges to our life. I’m 45 years old man. There’s a lot of shit going on. You’ve just got to try to figure out life the best you can. It’s a continuous process.”
By this time it had become obvious that his family was not supportive of his decision to come back to football and a series of heated arguments have been taking place with Bundchen finally leaving for Costa Rica.
The couple have two children of their own, Benjamin, 14 and Vivian, 9 and they also co-parent Jack, 15 from Brady’s previous marriage to Bridget Moynahan.
