Christina Aguilera has had ups and downs with her weight but has maintained it for some time now losing a whopping 40 pounds in 2013. Her fans are dying to know what her secret is for maintaining her weight.

She claims to have maintained it all these years with the Rainbow diet which is the same diet she used to lose all that weight after her divorce in 2013.

What is the rainbow diet?

It’s a plant-based diet that involves eating brightly colored fruits and vegetables such as sweet potato, broccoli, mango, blueberries, tomatoes and peppers.

Healthline reports that eating a variety of colors will increase your intake of different nutrients, giving your body an array of vitamins, and phytochemicals to benefit your health.

No diets for Christina

The singer says she is all about clean eating and doesn’t believe in diets at all. She eats a specific colored food everyday each one is known for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

For instance on the day for green foods she will tuck into broccoli, cabbage, kale, spinach and brussel sprouts.

She is also fond of things like chicken salad with lots of vegetables, fish with rice and vegetables and snacks like celery and nut butter. She does have her sweet treats but always in moderation.

Workouts

For exercise, Christina prefers yoga, boxing, strength training and cardio exercises. She admits to having a bit of a yo-yo situation with her weight going up and down over the years but has learned to love her body.

“Being too thin. Being bigger. I’ve been criticized for being on both sides of the scale. It’s noise I block out automatically. I love my body… I have certain physical features that I favor over others. We all have our areas,” she said in an interview with Marie Claire.

Acceptance

She also spoke on the importance of accepting one’s body. What looks good on one person might not look good on another she says and speaking for herself she says she feels confident in her own skin and it takes time to get to that place but it’s all about embracing one’s own body.
