The U.S. Marshals, FBI, and U.S. Secret Service are asking for the public’s help in locating a McAdoo, Pennsylvania, man wanted for threatening the president and other elected officials. In responding to the authorities request, Duane Chapman, a.k.a ‘Dog the Bounty Hunter,’ said he will join the law enforcement officers in pursuing the suspect.

Shawn Richard Christy, 27, also has multiple state arrest warrants in Pennsylvania for burglary, probation violation, and failure to appear for an aggravated assault case. Christy has threatened to use “full lethal force on any law enforcement officer that tries to detain me.”

A federal warrant was issued June 19 for Christy in relation to Facebook threats to the Northampton County district attorney, stating, “Keep it up Morganelli, I promise I’ll put a bullet in your head as soon as I put one in the head of President Donald J. Trump.”

On August 18, investigators of the U.S. Marshals Service and F.B.I. were notified the stolen 2001 Jeep Cherokee from Kentucky, believed to be operated by Christy, was located in a wooded area in Nitro, West Virginia.

On August 19, the Maryland Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a suspicious male wearing a tan shirt and blue jeans, sleeping in a vehicle in the 13000 block of Winters Lane in Cumberland, Maryland. After the man was initially observed by a passerby, he fled and was unable to be located. Deputy U.S. Marshals responded to the location and have positively identified the fleeing male as Christy.

On August 20, a business owner located in the vicinity where Christy had fled, reported a stolen pickup truck with Pennsylvania license plate. The U.S. Marshal Service said due to the location of the stolen vehicle, Christy is considered a suspect in the theft.

Chapman said that he has a “very hot lead” on Christy and that the suspect has been retained by a family friend who Chapman cannot identify publicly. Chapman believes that 26-year-old Christy isn’t someone who makes his living as a criminal, and hopes that he he can persuade Christy to surrender.

“I have delivered messages to him,” Chapman told a local newspaper, adding, “my goal is not to shoot him but get him to surrender.”

The 65-year-old bounty hunter often pursues criminals on America’s Most Wanted list. Federal authorities are offering a cash award of up to $20,000 for information leading to the direct arrest of Christy. The Federal law enforcers said Christy should be considered armed and dangerous, and that individuals should not attempt to arrest Christy themselves.
