lawsuit

Donald Trump has managed to defeat his niece Mary Trump inheritance lawsuit where she alleged that Trump and two of his siblings defrauded her out of a multimillion-dollar inheritance.

The judge, Justice Robert Reed pronounced that Mary Trump had released her claims against her relatives in a 2001 settlement over the estate of Donald Trump’s father Fred Trump Sr.

Mary Trump inheritance case originated from the death of her father Fred Trump Jr in 1981. Donald Trump’s older brother had left Mary who was then 16 years old quite a lot of real estate.

Mary now alleges that her uncles Donald and Robert Trump and her aunt Maryanne Trump Barry were supposed to protect her interests but instead “squeezed” her out of tens of millions of dollars.

Nasty Lawsuit

The 57-year-old psychologist said she learned of the fraud only when the New York Times published a 2018 Pulitzer Prize-winning probe into Donald Trump’s finances and spoke about his tax evasion.

According to the judge the settlement which allocated Mary Trump with more than $2.7 million was neither unfair, nor “a case where defendants alleged threats precluded the exercise of plaintiff’s free will”

Mary Trump’s lawyer Roberta Kaplan said that the decision is both incorrect and disappointing. “Given the age of the defendants, not to mention the fact that one of them intends to announce today that he is running again for President, we intend to seek an expedited appeal,” she had said last month.

Robert Trump died in August 2020. Donald Trump is 76, Barry Trump is 85. Barry is a retired federal judge.

Trump Wins Lawsuit

Donald’s lawyer, James Kiley said that “despite the plaintiff’s thinly veiled attempt to try the case in public and politicize her cause the court correctly followed decades of precedents and dispensed Justice blindly without fear or favor”.

Some of Mary Trump’s allegations about Donald Trump were in her own 2020 tell-all “Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World’s Most Dangerous Man.” Her book has been on the bestseller list while Trump said she was in fact just cashing in on the family name.

Donald is also suing Mary Trump, the Times and three reporters for more than $100 million, saying they plotted to exploit his tax records to fulfill personal vendettas and their desires for acclaim and money at his political expense.
