Jeff Goldblum will play Zeus in Netflix’s new dark comedy series entitled Kaos. The actor who was last seen in Jurassic World: Dominion as Dr Ian Malcolm will replace Hugh Grant as Zeus.

In Kaos, Goldblum is cast as “all powerful yet desperately insecure and vengeful”. The series has a witty start with Zeus waking up one morning to a wrinkle on his forehead convincing him that his reign is therefore near its end.

Kaos is the brainchild of Charlie Cowell and is hailed as a “darkly comic contemporary take on Greek mythology exploring love, power and life in the underworld.”

It is also touted as a modern twist on Greek and Roman mythology, exploring themes of gender, politics and strength. Production is set to begin in late summer.

The series will feature eight episodes in total and will be directed by Georgi Banks-Davies and Runyararo Mapfumo. Additional executive producers include Jane Featherstone, Chris Fry and Nina Lederman.

Before Jurassic World: Dominion, Goldblum also played The Grandmaster in Marvel’s Thor though he isn’t in the recent Thor: Love and Thunder. The actor did play the voice of God in Happy!, a 2017 drama series.

The cast of Kaos, includes Janet McTeer, Cliff Curtis, David Thewlis, Killian Scott, Aurora Perrineau, Misia Butler, Leila Farzad, Nabhaan Rizwan, Rakie Ayola and Stanley Townsend.

It is scheduled to hit our screens sometime next year though a specific release date is yet to to be confirmed.

In Ancient Greek mythology Zeus is the chief Greek deity and is considered to be the ruler, protector and father of all gods and humans. He is basically the commander in chief. Traditionally he has always been depicted as an older man with a beard and is often represented by symbols such as the lightning bolt and the eagle.
