Lee Min Ho and Kim Go Eun star in upcoming fantasy drama

Popular South Korean actors Lee Min Ho and Kim Go Eun are reported to have started filming in a new drama called The King: The Eternal Monarch.

The King: The Eternal Monarch is about two parallel universes of a monarchy and a democracy and it is written by Kim Eun Sook.

The Emperor Lee Gon role will be played by Lee Min Ho and the character tries to close the door between two worlds.

Kim Go Eun plays detective Jung Tae Eul who partners withe emperor to protect the lives of the people.

Soompi quoted Sports Kyunghyang as saying, the upcoming SBS drama starts filming on 24 Oct in North Chungcheong Province located at one of the main sets for the drama.

The set consists of a two-storey house with a sign that says ‘Heroes Taekwondo Studio’ with a spacious backyard and a large gingko tree.

It is said that this setting is the home of Kim Go Eun’s character.

Scheduled to conclude filming in early 2020, The King: The Eternal Monarch is set to premiere within the first half of the year via SBS.

Lee Min Ho, 32 is a South Korean actor and singer who gained popularity in Korea and across Asia for his role as Gu Jun-pyo in drama series Boys Over Flowers in 2009.

He won Best New Actor award at the 45th Baeksang Arts Awards for his role. Other lead roles that Lee played include City Hunter, The Heirs and Legend of the Blue Sea.

Lee also starred in movies like Gangnam Blues and China-produced film Bounty Hunters.

Kim Go Eun is a South Korean actress who debuted in the film A Muse where she won several Best New Actress awards in South Korea.

Kim also acted in TV series Cheese in the Trap and Guardian: The Lonely and Great God. /TISG
