former nbc news producer

Guess who else got married besides Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck? Facebook or more correctly Meta Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg tied the knot with Tom Bernthal, a strategic consultant and former NBC News producer and brother of actor Jon Bernthal.

The couple got married during the weekend (Aug 21/22)  at Teton Village near Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The celebration had a country and western theme as the duo are fans of country music. Lenny Kravitz also performed at the wedding.

People magazine reported that Bernthal wore cowboy boots and jeans for the ceremony and apparently sources say that the Four Seasons hotel located nearby was fully booked and filled with not just guests but also the secret service.

This was because of attendees who were political bigwigs including Secretary of State Anthony J. Blinken.

Sanberg got engaged to Bernthal in February 2020 with a ring that had each of their five children (from previous marriages) represented with a tiny diamond underneath the setting. Sandberg lost her first husband Dave Goldberg while they were on vacation some years ago. She was later introduced to Bernthal by Dave’s brother Rob who was also present at the wedding.

Sandberg announced in June that she would be stepping down as Meta COO in the fall after 14 years. Meta has been receiving bad press in the last few years due to its role in the spread of misinformation and an internal report which showed that its executives were aware of the detrimental effects of Facebook on mental health.

Following this, Sanberg has opted to distance herself from the company publicly. However she is also being investigated for using corporate resources to plan her wedding to Bernthal.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Sandberg is estimated to have around $1.6 billion. The majority of this is said to have been from the time she was at Facebook. Before joining Mark Zuckerberg, she served as the VP of ad sales at Google. She moved to Facebook in 2008.

Despite her impressive fortune, Sandberg leads a more or less ordinary life, not being a fan of jets, beach homes or private boats.

Bernthal is estimated to have a net worth ranging from between $5 and $7 million from his time as former NBC news producer and a CEO with an American marketing company. At NBC he produced segments including the Today Show, Nightly News and Dateline and has earned three Emmy awards for his work.
