It appears there may be a way to reverse the effects of aging in just two weeks. UK-based nutritionist Gabriela Peacock who has worked with members of the royal family like Princess Eugenie and Prince Harry provides some useful tips.
In an interview with The Sun she said, “The science is evident that we all have the power to make simple life-changing alterations to better our future selves – no matter what genetic hand we might have been dealt with,” says Peacock.
Peacock has also penned “2 Weeks to a Younger You: Secrets to Living Longer and Feeling Fantastic” which was released earlier this year.
She cited junk food, smoking, alcohol, pollution and PFAs from water bottles as some of the worst offenders when it comes to aging badly.
“But we all have the potential to change this. Whatever your age or state of health, it’s never too late to reverse how quickly you are aging and embrace the energy and vigor of a younger you.”
Peacock says doing three things can help bring out a more youthful appearance.
Nutritionist: Avoid sugar
One of the nutritionist is saying no to sugar as it slows down aging. She said that sugar leads to chronic inflammation which is a big enemy. It also leads to weight gain. “Energy and hormonal levels will be affect and this will influence how you look and feel too.”
Get your nutrients
There are certain nutrients that have anti aging superpowers according to Peacock. Antioxidants such as Vitamin A, C and E in fruits and vegetables are essential in neutralizing free radicals.
Omega 3 fatty acids also diminish fine lines and wrinkles by moisturizing the skin and making it more elastic. Eating fatty fish like salmon helps and a good amount of protein too as it does a lot of good for the body.
Hot and cold
Extreme temperatures may be a good for anti-aging. This can be done in simple ways like taking cold plunges, walking or exercising outdoors in the winter or switching to cold water at the end of your shower.
“To ease you into things, why not try a few seconds of cold water at the end of your shower? I now try up to one to two minutes before switching to warmer water.”
