O.J Simpson’s remains turned into cremation jewellery

The late O.J. Simpson’s remains have been turned into cremation jewellery. In an interview with TMZ, his lawyer and estate executor Malcolm LaVergne said that his remains have been transformed into ornaments and divided among his four children.

Simpson died in April and was cremated. His children, Arnelle, Jason, Sydney and Justin, signed off on turning their father’s ashes into jewellery, with LaVergne preparing the written consent.

He did not specify the type of trinkets that were made from the ashes, but usually, these pieces of jewellery consist of necklaces and bracelets. The whole procedure, including the cost of cremation, the trinkets and the death certificates, cost $4,243.06.

Simpson has a mountain of debt and his attorney is trying to liquidate all his assets in order to pay it off. He owes tens of millions to the Goldman family.

The former NFL player and actor was acquitted of the murder of his ex-wife Nicole Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman, who were stabbed to death in June 1994. His trial went on for eight months, from January to October 1995.

He was, however, found liable for the deaths of Nicole and Goldman in a Santa Monica civil court with a judgment amount of $33.5 million. Interest on that sum, however, has skyrocketed to $100 million now.

His estate was also hit with a $500,000 tax lien from the State of California.

According to his lawyer, his estate is almost worthless at present, so he is looking for sources of revenue to fund the estate and pay back creditors, which include the Internal Revenue Service, the California Tax Board and the Goldmans.

LaVergne says there are a number of expensive items that are missing and cannot be found since Simpson died; these include a Pro Football Hall of Fame ring and a Rolex watch.

“It belongs to the estate and I want it placed at my feet.”

He is also attempting to have an auction to sell Simpson’s memorabilia in an effort to raise money. Items that are likely to be auctioned are his Heisman Trophy, his golf club, his car and even his driver’s licence.
