“I want a family, not an institution,” Prince Harry said in an interview with ITV‘s Tom Bradby as he pleads for harmony within the Royal family despite the shocking revelations he and Meghan Markle have spilled out to the public.
While Prince Harry and Meghan Markle willingly ventilate their displeasure and irritation with the royal family, the Duke of Sussex is seeking to patch up the huge divide between them that now he’s imploring for unity within the Royal household.
“I would like to get my father back. I would like to have my brother back,” the seemingly distraught Duke of Sussex added.
Harmony new motto?
In an interview with Anderson Cooper for 60 Minutes, Prince Harry explains “leaks” in the media and how damaging stories have distressed him and Meghan. He also expresses to Cooper why he’s addressing these matters publicly.
“Every single time I tried to do it privately, there have been briefings and leakings and planting of stories against me and my wife,” Prince Harry says. “You know, the family motto is ‘never complain, never explain’ … it’s just a motto and it doesn’t really … hold.”
Prince Harry blames his family for the heavy glitches they are now into because according to him they continue to portray Meghan and him as the “bad guys.” He asserts that neither King Charles nor Prince William has shown any signs of wanting to make amends.
“Spare” and more revelations?
A forthcoming 60 Minutes interview between Prince Harry and Anderson Cooper is scheduled for broadcast on Jan. 8, and it’s already stirring up discussion.
“Not a start the royals want for a year, which is going to include a coronation and really the big start of the new reign,” CTV News Royal Commentator Richard Berthelsen told CTV News Channel.
“Obviously, these interviews are designed to raise interest in the book and to promote book sales.”
Harry’s memoir titled Spare is set to be released later this month.
Tight-lipped
Despite the many revelations that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made in their Netflix docuseries, the Royal Family has made no statement in response.
It appears that the Royal family is giving “cold treatment” to this century’s “exposé-scorching” couple. Or probably, the Royals are hoping that the issues will die a natural death on their own?
