PS3 Hacker

PlayStation 3 hacker or the PS3 hacker, George Hotz just joined Twitter in late November and he has already thrown in the towel. The hacker who was brought in by Elon Musk said he has had it and has resigned.

Hotz gained favour in Musk’s eyes when he bashed Twitter employees who refused to sign Musk’s ‘extremely hardcore’ declaration for Twitter 2.0.

The PS3 hacker publicly offered to intern at Twitter for 12 weeks in exchange for living expenses in San Francisco. His mandate? “To get rid of the non-dismissable login pop-up after you scroll a little bit.”

However Hotz has since given up on the company posting on December 20th, “Resigned from Twitter today. Appreciate the opportunity, but didn’t think there was any real impact I could make there. Besides, it was sad to see my GitHub withering. Back to coding!”

The PS3 hacker did write that he was “still rooting for the success of Twitter 2.0.”

In other tweets, Hotz had written, “Between reheated uber eats food, a questionable commitment to free speech, existing office politics and a push for features, I was like, there’s nothing substantial I can do here.”

So it appears sleeping at your desk, not having weekends off and living on takeout is not exactly everyone’s cup of tea.

Twitter users poked fun at the PS3 hacker as after big promises he bailed in less than a month. Musk himself is said to have done the same, after big visions and promises Twitter remains in the doghouse.

The rollout of Twitter Blue was a disaster and led to companies pulling out from advertising when users realized they could impersonate a brand for $8.

There also appears to be new policies on an almost daily basis. The writing on the wall doesn’t look good at all if Musk can’t hold on to staff that were even willing to work for free previously (aka Hotz).

Musk recently made a poll asking if he should resign from Twitter. The results were 57% said he should quit and 43 percent said he should stay. The billionaire has even gotten into a tiff with Tesla investors online so things really are up in the air for him right now.
