Stamos

John Stamos opened up about his marriage to ex Rebecca Romjin on the Howard Stern Show recently. The Full House actor who was married to the former model says at one point he thought he was married to a devil.

He said he stopped prioritizing his career and felt emasculated throughout the marriage.

“I loved her and I thought she was super talented. So I was happy to do that. But I forgot about my own stuff. She was taking off and I just wasn’t paying attention to mine. And it wasn’t her fault.

He said he wanted to put her the focus on her but she outgrew him in some way. He did however admit to only giving 50 to 60% of effort into the marriage and says he could have done better.

“Well, my 50% is better than, you know 99% of the people out there. I don’t have to give it all. I didn’t work on anything. I didn’t work as hard as I should at anything.”

His interview was mainly talking about his recently launched memoir titled If You Would Have Told Me. He spoke at length about the aftermath of their divorce in the early 2000s.

Stamos said his marriage was shattering to him and his trauma lasted for way too long.

“In my mind back then, she was the Devil, and I just hated her. I couldn’t believe how much I hated her, and it ruined my life,” he said but later he realized he was as much to blame as her.

“It was very much the opinion that she dumped me because her career was going great name mine wasn’t and that’s humiliating. I don’t blame her for it. It was just the perception that people took, and maybe they weren’t wrong. She was doing great at the time and I wasn’t.”

Stamos’ memoirs is currently available at major bookstores.
