Pop sensation Rihanna has just given birth to her first child while British singer Ed Sheeran also welcomed his second daughter.

Rihanna’s baby boy was born in Los Angeles on May 13 and is yet to be named. The child’s father is the singer’s boyfriend A$AP Rocky and the couple have been in their home in LA for some time to welcome their new son.

A source from the industry said that Rihanna was doing well and the duo were very excited about their newborn.

Rihanna, 34, and A$AP Rocky, 33, announced her pregnancy in February this year. The Fenty beauty founder also did a photoshoot featuring her growing baby bump earlier.

Meanwhile Ed Sheeran and wife Cherry Seaborn managed to keep her pregnancy a secret despite his hectic schedule and the release of his fifth album in October last year.

“Want to let you all know we’ve had another beautiful baby girl,” the “Shivers” crooner, 31, captioned on Thursday, May 19 with an Instagram snap of a knit blanket and baby-sized socks. “We are both so in love with her, and over the moon to be a family of 4.”

The Grammy nominee and his partner were wedded in 2019. The couple’s first child Lyra was born in August 2020.

The couple were equally secretive about Seaborn’s first pregnancy too, informing the public only two weeks before Lyla’s birth.

Sheeran told The Sun in October that he hoped to expand his family.

“I’d love more kids man, I’d love it, but it does all depend on what Cherry wants too because it’s her body,” he said.

Sheeran praised Seaborn, saying he was “really proud” of her accomplishments.

“I’m really proud of Cherry as a mother. She’s such an incredible human, I’m just in awe.”

In an earlier interview, Sheeran made a witty comment that his daughter was not his biggest fan. “I’ll sing [my new songs] to my daughter, who’s not my biggest fan. She just cries,” Sheeran said during an appearance on Radio 1’s Big Weekend in May 2021. “No, I’ve got some she likes. She really likes ‘Shape of You.’ The marimba sound is good, but she doesn’t like anything loud or anything belt-y.”
