Presidential candidate Donald Trump is now targeting vice president Kamala Harris as rumours abound that she could be the presidential candidate if Joe Biden steps aside from running.
Trump did not hold back on his usual attacks on Biden but also went for Harris this time. He sarcastically remarked that Biden had made a brilliant decision in picking Kamala Harris as his vice president.
He condemned Harris for how she handled migration issues assigned to her by the Biden administration.
He also threw shade at Biden’s cognitive abilities, saying that it was a big cover-up by the powers that be.
Harris a ‘socialist’
He also said her politics was socialist politics hinting at her being inept. “I don’t think Kamala Harris’s California socialism is going to go down well with the people of Doral, the people of Miami or the people of Florida. Because in Florida we don’t like socialism, we want our freedom,” Trump said.
Biden campaign spokesperson Ammar Moussa said that Trump’s bizarre and unhinged rants won’t stop Vice President Harris from defending the Biden-Harris record and prosecuting the case against Donald Trump’s extreme record.
Biden is currently busy in Washington with the NATO summit where he delivered a forceful speech about the Ukraine situation. He did not fumble or stumble throughout the speech as he has been known to do lately.
“Ukraine can and will stop Putin. Russia will not prevail. Ukraine will prevail. Make no mistake: Russia is failing in this war. When this senseless war began, Ukraine was a free country. Today, it’s still a free country, and the war will end with Ukraine remaining a free and independent country,” he said, speaking at the Mellon Auditorium in Washington.
Biden also announced the delivery of new air defences to Ukraine during the summit. Biden faces intense scrutiny in the next few days, with a news conference coming up on July 11 where he will be asked questions on his mental sharpness and cognitive ability.
