Singer Billie Eilish has joined the long list of celebrities targeted in robberies and house break-ins.
After the incident, Eilish requested a restraining order against a male fan who allegedly broke into her Los Angeles home earlier this month.
Eilish said that the incident as well as previous times had caused her “substantial anxiety, fear, and emotional distress” over her safety and that of her family.
According to court records obtained by the PA news agency, Christopher Anderson, 39, allegedly showed up “unannounced and uninvited” at the singer’s family home multiple times between late December and early January.
Eilish claimed that Anderson “supposedly professed his love for me and expressed that he truly wanted to see me” at the most recent break-in on January 5.
It is painful indeed for celebrities targeted in robberies.
The fan professed his love for the singer
“My father and members of the Los Angeles Police Department recently informed me that an individual who goes by the name Christopher A Anderson or Chris Anderson recently entered the interior of my family’s home on January 5 2023, unannounced and uninvited, after apparently professing his love for me and expressing that he really wanted to meet me,” Eilish stated in the documents.
“I have viewed images of this individual and can confirm I have no idea who he is and that I have had no prior relationship or communication with him.”
The singer said that five times before to the incident, the police had been summoned to the house.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time an unauthorised person has made an attempt to get in touch with my family and me in particular by following us outside my family’s home, professing their love for me, and making threats of violence against me.
Eilish worries that someday someone will do something violent to her or her family
“I worry that some day one of these individuals will do something violent or extremely disturbing to me or one of my family members.
“However, each such occasion, including the present one, causes me substantial anxiety, fear, and emotional distress over my personal safety and that of my father, mother, and brother.
The restraining order requests protection for her mother and father, Maggie May Baird and Patrick Mead O’Connell, as well as her brother and producer Finneas O’Connell.
Eilish’s request was submitted to the Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday.
This is not the first time a fan has tried to break in into a celebrity’s home.
