The heartfelt “theastrun” project aims to increase public awareness of the rapidly melting Himalayan glaciers. This Pangong Lake symbolic run represents the run’s possible end due to the effects of global warming. The initiative also intends to increase winter tourism in areas like Changthang. Pangong region residents took part in the event with great enthusiasm, displaying a combination of energetic running and captivating cultural performances. In the face of climate change challenges, this multimodal approach aims to involve communities while increasing tourism and environmental conscience.
