During Lisa Marie Presley’s eulogy, her daughter Riley Keough and her son-in-law Ben Smith-Petersen revealed a piece of good news.
Ben Smith-Petersen shared that the couple had welcomed a secret child last year. He made the announcement during Lisa Marie Presley’s funeral service on Sunday (January 22) while reading a letter on behalf of Riley Keough at the memorial service. The date of birth or name of the baby has not been revealed.
Riley Keough oldest Elvis granddaughter
Keough is Elvis Presley’s oldest granddaughter. Lisa Marie Presley died at the age of 54 earlier this month.
“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” Priscilla Presley said in a statement at the time. “She was the most passionate, strong, and loving woman I have ever known.”
The late Lisa Marie Presley’s funeral service was conducted at Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee and was attended by many of her colleagues, friends and family.
“I hope I can love my daughter the way you loved me, the way you loved my brother and my sisters,” Smith-Petersen said on behalf of Keough.
“Thank you for giving me strength, my heart, my empathy, my courage, my sense of humour, my manners, my temper, my wildness, my tenacity.
“I’m a product of your heart, my sisters are a product of your heart, my brother is a product of your heart.”

A representative confirmed the birth of Riley Keough and Smith-Petersen’s daughter to People.
The couple’s baby is the first grandchild of Lisa Marie and the first great-grandchild of Elvis and Priscilla.
Riley Keough and her husband celebrated their seven-year anniversary in February 2022.
“7 years of RAD luck. I love you to the moon & back. 7,000 more years please,” Smith-Petersen wrote via Instagram alongside a throwback wedding photo of the couple.
The Girlfriend Experience alum –– who Presley shared with ex-husband Danny Keough –– met the stuntman on the set of Mad Max: Fury Road and sparks quickly flew between the costars.
“We only started dating after we did re-shoots in Australia because the crew is smaller and I got to meet him,” Riley recalled to USA Today in April 2016. “Two weeks into dating him, we were at a gas station and I was like, ‘I could see myself having kids with this person.’ It was kind of like I knew I was meeting my husband. It was very cool.”
Lisa Marie Presley struggled with addiction
Born on February 1 1968 in Memphis, Tennesee, Lisa Marie is Elvis and Priscilla’s only child. She became a musician as well, releasing three albums: To Whom It May Concern (2003), Now What (2005) and Storm & Grace (2012).
At age 25, Lisa Marie Presley inherited her father’s $100m (£82m) estate. However, in 2018, she sued her former manager for selling 85 per cent of her share in the estate in 2005.
The late star has previously been public with her health struggles, including her road to sobriety following her addiction to opioids.
