Despite the world going through an economic recession and conflicts, there are individuals who feel that prioritising their pronouns are the most important things in today’s society. Recently, a non-binary individual made a rant about how their colleague has been misgendering them and they broke down in tears.
The simple definition of a non-binary person is a gender identity that goes beyond the traditional male-female binary. Some individuals don’t neatly fit into the categories of “man” or “woman.” They may have gender blending elements of both, be entirely different, or experience fluid gender identities.
Furthermore, nonbinary people use various terms to describe themselves, such as genderqueer, agender, bigender, and more. This concept challenges the notion that there are only two genders, male and female, recognized in many societies, hence the term “nonbinary” emphasises genders outside this binary framework.

The video is shared by Libs of TikTok, a popular conservative page on X. Furthermore, a number of users are vehemently against this whole idea as they feel that this causes unnecessary drama. Some even suggest that those who are using they/them pronouns should pay tax for at least two people.

Following that, users state that enabling those who want to be non-binary is cruel. They claim that this is a delusion that should not be accepted by people. Furthermore, users state that the non-binary individual has deeper underlying issues, which would then make them vehemently upset if someone refuses to follow their instructions.
They’re not asking you to participate in anything. They’re asking for a little respect. How would you feel if I kept calling you ma’am? Her and she? Even after you correct me and I still keep doing it. The political statement is in refusing to use gender affirming pronouns.

Conservative users state that this is a fantasy that is being played out by liberal Americans. Not everyone will be participative of said fantasy. Furthermore, there are a number of older individuals who can get confused with the matter.
However, there are some liberals defending the non-binary individual. They cite that if someone misgenders a man or woman, it would most definitely be frustrating for them. The user adds that some empathy should be given to those who suffer from gender dysphoria.
