CNBC states, the Colorado Supreme Court has temporarily prevented Donald Trump from being on the state’s ballots for the upcoming election due to his involvement in inciting the Capitol riot, though the decision is on hold until Jan. 4, giving him a window to appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court.
The ruling stated evidence of Trump’s insurrection, disqualifying him from the presidency under the Constitution’s provisions. This marks the first time a state court has agreed on Trump’s disqualification from the 2024 election due to his role in inciting the riot following his 2020 election loss. The delay means Trump could remain in the GOP primary ballot in Colorado as the legal battle persists.
