The woke diversity train is forcing biopics and historical accuracy to be muddled with. This is due to the new Academy Awards requirement that states a movie needs to be diverse in order for it to qualify for the awards. However, for a lot of European origin stories, these guidelines will be difficult as the global population did not travel as much as they do today.

According to Remix news, Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen and filmmaker Nikolaj Arcel defend their historical drama film, “The Promised Land”. This film is receiving questions about its lack of diversity during a press conference at the Venice Film Festival. Furthermore, the film is set in 18th century Denmark, features a Nordic cast and tells the story of soldier Ludvig Kahlen.

The soldier is played by Mikkelsen who is attempting to cultivate barren land in Jutland, facing opposition from landowner Frederik De Schinkel. Following that, they are also discussing concerns regarding the film meeting new inclusion standards for eligibility in the Academy Awards. It seems that historical accuracy does not matter to the woke corporations.

Historical accuracy not important to woke individuals as they want movie set in 1750s Denmark to be diverse

An abundant of X users are joking that liberals are taking everything into offense these days. A user shares a meme depicting a liberal finding everything, including factual evidence as offensive. Furthermore, users state that reporters and interviewers often ask the redundant question on the cast diversity of any new movies.

In addition to this, others are joking that Lizzo should play a viking one day. This is obviously the work of conservatives trying to poke fun at her weight and size. Others are seemingly agreeing to this thought as she is big and would probably be able to fight off men. Some are even sharing compliments to those who made the meme.

However, a father claims that his daughters love watching Bridgeton, where they portray Queen Charlotte as a Black woman. He claims that his daughters know that it wasn’t true. Despite this, X users state that woke individuals are starting to use these movies and shows as facts that there were Black Queens in England a few hundred years ago. When in reality, such things would have not been the reality of the situation.
