Martin Zubimendi

Arsenal has been informed by Spanish club Real Sociedad that they must meet the €60 million (£52 million) release clause of midfielder Martin Zubimendi if they wish to sign him this month.

The 23-year-old Spaniard, who has been involved in the sport since 2011, when he joined Real Sociedad’s youth setup, is reportedly seeking new opportunities in terms of experience and the opportunity to observe how other clubs handle their player dynamics.

The final five days of Arsenal’s January transfer window are crucial for the club’s chances of winning the Premier League at the end of the season. While the Gunners have recently brought in Leandro Trossard and Jakub Kiwior from Spezia and Brighton, respectively, the team is still in need of a new midfielder.

After Mohamed Elneny’s recent absence, Mikel Arteta acknowledged that the ideal scenario for the team would be to provide him more choices in midfield for the second half of the season. It is believed that a central midfielder has been on Arsenal’s wish list for some time, even before the injury issues with the Egyptian.

Arteta stated, “In this market, it’s pretty complicated to do that. The most important thing is that we get the performances and the time on the pitch that we need with the players we have available today that are already really good.”

Zubimendi has been drawing interest from top clubs due to his impressive performances in La Liga. The 23-year-old midfielder has been linked with a move to the Premier League, with rumours speculating that he is looking for a new challenge and opportunity to play in one of the top leagues in the world. Despite interest from Barcelona as well, it’s believed that a summer transfer would be more likely.

As the January transfer window draws to a close, Real Sociedad has set a deadline for any potential deal with Arsenal.Real Sociedad is keen to hold on to the midfielder until the summer, and the clock is ticking for Arsenal to make a move.

Arsenal fans thoughts about Martin Zubimendi

Fans expect Arsenal to be done with the transfer period this season as it seems a lot of their deals are backfiring on them. Regardless, they are still the winning team for the Premier League.

Another fan suggested that the player stated that he is leaving Real Sociedad until the summer of 2023, hence any deals made for him would not be in full realisation by then. There were remarks that claim he is a good player and is well worth the transfer fees.

Many Arsenal fans have praised the similarities between new signing Zubimendi, and current manager, Mikel Arteta. Both players hail from Real Sociedad and have similar playing styles. This has led to excitement and optimism among fans, who believe Zubimendi has the potential to complement the team under Arteta’s leadership.

Despite the positive sentiments towards Zubimendi, some Chelsea fans have made joking references to the recent transfer drama involving Mykhaylo Mudryk. However, it is clear that the majority of fans are excited to see Zubimendi take the field for Arsenal.
