Apple

Apple is rumored to allocate billions for AI hardware investments in 2024. Prominent analyst Ming-Chi Kuo expects $620 million for servers in 2023 and $4.75 billion in 2024. This could involve 2,000-3,000 servers this year and up to 20,000 next year. Kuo anticipates Apple using Nvidia’s HGX H100 servers for generative AI training, with plans to upgrade to B100.

Furthermore, He suggests Apple might prioritize in-house server installations for security. Competitively, Apple lags behind Meta and Microsoft. Kuo highlights the need for several billion dollars in annual spending to catch up. Apple may struggle if it adheres to a more modest budget as proposed by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who mentioned Apple’s $1 billion yearly budget for AI initiatives.

Apple is a brand that continuously innovates for the next best thing. However, with the recent lacklustre iPhones, it seems that they are jumping on to AI. To be fair, there isn’t much that the company can change with their iPhones as the cameras and battery life are already amazing for the last few generations.

This is not particularly shocking to those who have been following the tech company. Some users claim that Apple has spent $26 billion on research alone last year. However, it is still quite a large sum of money for them to throw at. The fact remains that AI will be heavily involved in our near future.

According to Bloomberg, Apple is belatedly addressing the AI craze that swept the tech industry, aiming to equip its range of devices with AI features. Having watched competitors like Google and Microsoft develop convincing generative AI and enhanced assistants, Apple now recognizes the importance of AI.

It could be an interesting future for the company. Unfortunately, they have been left behind with the rise of ChatGPT and Bing AI. However, knowing Apple, they might release a program similar to them in the near future. They could possibly revamp Siri and make it into a more indepth AI program.

Regardless, the company is still going strong as their products and services are arguably one of the best in the world. Furthermore, their iPhones can last longer than most of the competition available out there. Be that as it may, it will be interesting to see what the tech giant will do with their version of an Artificial Intelligence platform.
