Conservatives are typically the ones that can make or break a brand. Brands like Bud Light and Disney are doubling down with their woke influences to appease the conservatives in America. However, it seems that Dove is still strong with their wokeness. It is odd for someone, regardless of their gender, to not shave their armpits for a decade. 

According to Marketing Dive, Dove is seizing the NYFW buzz with a campaign promoting underarm confidence, challenging societal norms. The campaign is a response to a 2022 survey by the brand, which disclosed that 80% of women feel pressured to conform to an “ideal” armpit image: hairless, odorless, smooth, and evenly toned. 

Furthermore, Many women experience self-consciousness about their underarms, affecting social interactions. Out-of-home subway ads running through September 17 take a candid approach, featuring models with armpit hair, tattoos, and other unconventional features. Dove’s initiative contrasts with NYFW’s promotion of narrow beauty standards and heavily curated looks, emphasizing diversity and authenticity.

X users are now making light regarding the situation. Some of them are now accusing Dove of wanting to make more profit off plus sized individuals. Following that, users are sharing memes that depict plus size individuals would require more soaps, and thus Dove will be on the winning end of the stick. 

However, it is still unkind to mock plus size individuals in such a manner as some of them may have diseases or are on medication that makes them gain weight. Despite this, it is the woke culture to embrace the larger bodies. 

Others state that they will refrain from purchasing soap from Dove simply due to their influencer and model choices. Following that, others state that a similar thing happened to Victoria’s Secret, and hence they are doubling down on their inclusivity. It seems that even on that score, conservatives won. 

Some X users are advising others to avoid buying Unilever stocks. They claim that they own several woke companies like Ben and Jerrys and Dove. For now, it may not affect them, but there are other alternatives to the products they own, and conservatives may turn their dollars away from these companies.
