South Korean singer, record producer, activist, actress and television presenter Lee Hyori has made a comeback on Instagram.
The 40-year-old who is known as the “Nation’s Fairy” was part of South Korean girl group Fin.K.L previously but is now a solo artist.
Her debut solo album, Stylish won numerous ‘Artist of the Year’ awards in 2003.
She was the highest-paid female singer in South Korea in 2006 after signing a contract with Mnet Media.
After two years of hiatus, Lee Hyori returned to Instagram on 6 Nov KST, much to the surprise and delight of her fans.
She last posted on the social media platform in July 2017.
Hyori’s latest post is a black and white photo of herself taken from the back with the caption, “Hello.”
Co-members of Fin.K.L showed love to the star by leaving comments on the post.
“Wow, look who it is!” wrote Sung Yuri, together with a heart-eyes emoji.
Lee Jin left a simple heart emoji.
“The back of a leader,” wrote Ock Joo Hyun, referring to Lee Hyori’s role as the Fin.K.L’s leader.
“Insta[gram] for the first time in 100 years. Make some noise!” wrote Girls’ Generation Yuri jokingly.
Consisting of members Lee Hyori, Ock Joo Hyun, Lee Jin and Sung Yuri, Fin.K.L was formed in 1998 by DSP Media and is a South Korean girl group.
It is one of the most popular K-pop groups during the late 1990s and early 2000s.
Fin.K.L. released four albums including Blue Rain, White, Now and Eternity.
The group won numerous awards such as New Artist of the Year at the 1998 Golden Disc Awards, the Grand Prize at the 1999 Seoul Music Awards and Best Female Group at the 2000 Mnet Music Video Festival.
In 2005, the group became inactive after releasing the album Fine Killing Liberty.
Fin.K.L made a reunion on a variety show, announcing the release of a new song called Just Like The Song That Remains on 22 September. /TISG
