A New Year’s Eve wedding is exciting, full of glamorous glitz and it comes with all the anticipation, passion, and fun already built in. What’s more, it’s a practical date to tie the knot because those living abroad are likely home.

So, let’s see who among the stars tied the knot on New Year’s Eve:

Bubba Wallace & Amanda Carter glamorous glitz

Bubba Wallace and Amanda Carter began 2023 as husband and wife!

The NASCAR driver, born Darrell Wallace Jr, and his long-time love, exchanged vows in front of 250 guests at the JW Marriott in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Dec. 31, 2022.

“Getting married, and starting a new life together, I’m just so excited to have a good one in my corner,” Wallace told People. “We have so much fun together.”

Their wedding comes after more than one year of being engaged in July 2021. A glamorous glitz they will not forget.

 Jenny Slate & Ben Shattuck

I Want You Back actress Jenny Slate revealed that she and Ben Shattuck had postponed and canceled their nuptials three times due to the COVID outbreak, resizing it until they decided to do the intimate at-home version.

“We were planning on a [wedding] that ended up being almost 200 people, and then now, it’s just our parents and siblings. We each invited six friends… I actually like it,” she said.

“I didn’t realize how the large thing was making me feel uncomfortable, a little bit. Just a little,” Slate added about their glamorous glitz.

The couple announced their engagement in September 2019. Their original plan was to tie the knot in June 2020 but that was canceled.

Kathy Griffin & Randy Bick

Comedian Kathy Griffin and her longtime boyfriend Randy Bick announced their engagement in a hilarious video on New Year’s Eve 2019 — and tied the knot (with none other than comedy legend Lily Tomlin officiating) just a few hours later.

“What was supposed to be a shallow, ‘toot it and boot it’ one-night stand has grown and flourished into something far more meaningful,” said the Grace and Frankie star as she began the ceremony. “They stayed together. Then they couldn’t stay away from one another.”

“We are in love and we cannot stop laughing,” Griffin wrote on social media afterward. In addition to the sweet ceremony, her wedding dress held special significance for the couple — it was the outfit she wore for their first date, back in 2011.

 Erin Foster & Simon Tikhman

What better way to ring in the New Year than with a new ring? Bumble entrepreneur Erin Foster kicked off 2020 with a glamorous Nashville wedding to her businessman fiancé Simon Tikhman on New Year’s Eve.

The couple, who started dating in August 2018, said “I do” in front of their closest family and friends, including the bride’s dad David Foster, his wife Katharine McPhee, and pals Kate Hudson and Rachel Zoe.

“I got to marry the love of my life, and hopefully will never have to look at a seating chart again for as long as I shall live,” Foster joked on Instagram on this glamorous glitz.

 Why New Year’s Eve?

There are two practical reasons why tying the knot on New Year’s Eve is an excellent idea –

First, one gets to begin the new year as a happy newly-married couple. That means the first kiss of the new year will be as newlyweds.

And second, nobody will ever forget your wedding anniversary! Most importantly, one has an excuse to really celebrate each and every year.
