Backstreet Rookie
Ji Chang Wook stars as Choi Dae-Hyun who walks despondently through a residential back alley after getting dumped by a girl. Three high school girls sit nearby including Jung Saet-Byul (Kim You-Jung). Jung finds Choi cute and she asked him to buy them a pack of cigarettes. He reprimands them instead of buying them cigarettes.
With that, Jung becomes smitten by Choi and she kisses him. Three years later, Choi manages his family-owned convenience store. High school girls like to come in and take photos of him but the store does not earn much money.
Choi put up a “part-timer worker needed” sign to ease the heavy hours he has been working. Sometime during the night, Jung walks into the store. She is now an adult and applies for a part-time job.
The Sound of Magic
Because of a dire financial situation, Yoon A-Yi (Choi Sung-Eun) works part-time jobs to support herself and younger sister. She is a high school student who does not know where her parents are.
Her father is escaping from debt collectors while her mother left home. Despite it all, she is able to rank the top of her school academically. Yoon is also attractive. She wants to grow up quickly to have a stable career.
Yoon’s classmate Na Il-Deung (Hwang In-Yeop) regularly competes with her to receive the top grade. Eventually they fall for each other.
One day, Yoon meets Magician Ri-Eul (Ji Chang-Wook) at an abandoned amusement park. He puts on magic shows to people who tell him they believe in magic. He is a mysterious person, but he comforts Yoon, who told him that she believes in magic.
