It is no secret that there was bad blood between Kim Kardashian and Taylor Swift. However, on Thursday in a new TikTok video, Kardashian and her daughter North West, 9, dance to Swift’s hit single, Shake It Off, signalling the end of the feud.
In the fun clip, the 42-year-old reality star showed off her best dance moves with North. She wore a black top and white hoodie while jumping around behind her daughter.

Kardashian’s and Swift’s, 31, feud started when Kardashian’s then-husband Kanye West invaded the stage during the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards where the singer is honoured for Video of the Year.
Lyrics that offended Swift
In 2016, the rapper released a song called Famous which included the lyric: “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that b***h famous.”
Swift was unhappy about the lyrics but West claimed that he had spoken to her before she gave the song her blessing. Kardashian then called Swift a ‘snake’ for claiming she had ‘no idea’ West would call her a ‘b****’ in the song.
The country singer talked about the extreme ‘isolation’ she felt and the attacks she endured in the weeks after Kardashian likened her to a ‘snake’.
“A mass public shaming, with millions of people saying you are quote-unquote cancelled, is a very isolating experience,” said Swift.
The feud got worse after audio from a phone call between West and Swift discussing the song was leaked. Different versions of the call came out with both sides accusing the other of editing or manipulating it.
Kardashian accused Swift of lying
As recently as March 2020, Kardashian revisited the long-running feud as she accused Swift of lying.
The SKIMS founder posted a series of messages at the time, claiming Swift is not being fully about the 2016 phone call with her and Kanye West about the song Famous – and the ongoing dispute as to whether Swift was aware of West’s lyrics, in which he called her a ‘b****.’
Kardashian recently sat down for an interview where she was asked what her favourite Taylor Swift song was.
“Cute and catchy” with North West
Kardashian said: ‘I really like a lot of her songs. They’re all super cute and catchy. I’d have to look in my phone to get a name.’
She probably dropped the name of the song for which she danced with North West.
Swift’s album release date for Midnights in August appeared to be a subtle dig at Kardashian. During the MTV Video Music Awards Swift announced she was releasing a new album on October 21 and it didn’t take fans long to find out that the day is also Kardashian’s 42nd birthday.
“Taylor Swift announcing a new album on the 13th anniversary of the Kanye West VMA sh**show, 5 years after the premier of LWYMMD at the VMAs, which will drop on Kim Kardashian’s birthday is ICON behaviour,” one fan wrote.
Another said: “It’s been 13 years since THAT Kanye-Taylor moment at the VMAs and now Taylor decides to announce her brand new album with 13 tracks at the VMAs today that will be released on October 21st which also happens to be Kim K’s birthday. HER MINDDDDD!!!”
Midnights could be the next chapter in the Kardashian and Swift saga
Swift’s latest album could be the next chapter in the Kardashian and Swift saga.
“Midnights, the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life, will be out October 21. Meet me at midnight.”
Since 2020’s Evermore, Midnights will be Swift’s first album of new material. Swift gave a bit of context of the concept behind the new long-player in the second slide of the post.
Alongside a picture of Swift with her head in her hands, she wrote on social media: “We lie awake in love and fear, in turmoil and in tears. We stare at walls and drink until they speak back.”
“We twist in our self-made cages and pray that we aren’t – right this minute – about to make some fateful life-altering mistake.
“This is a collection of music written in the middle of the night, a journey through terrors and sweet dreams. The floors we pace and the demons we face.”
“For all of us who have tossed and turned and decided to keep the lanterns lit and go searching – hoping that just maybe, when the clock strikes twelve … we’ll meet ourselves.
She concluded: ‘Midnights, the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life, will be out October 21. Meet me at midnight.
It looks like both Kim and North West had so much fun.
