Tax evasion issues led to Dior removing content related to Yuan Bingyan

After the tax evasion news was exposed, Dior’s official account deleted contents related to actress Crystal Yuan Bingyan’s endorsement.

That led to speculation that Yuan Bingyan’s business resources are not particularly good. This tax incident has negatively affected Yuan Bingyan’s personal image, and her business endorsement will be even more difficult, say some reports.

Love and Redemption actress Crystal Yuan Bingyan was in trouble as her affiliate company, Chongqing Liyan Culture Media was flagged in July for tax evasion.

It looks like Bingyan may have a tough time climbing out of this new scandal as celebrities who are charged with tax evasion often remain in the bad books of fans and the industry and sometimes find it difficult to get acting roles going forward. In addition her commercial endorsements are also likely to be cancelled.

While her studio issued an apology on July 4 saying that all relevant taxes have been fully paid in a timely manner, fans are still not happy and believe that the actress may take a sabbatical.

According to a report in Jaynestars.com, independent magazine Cajing said that Chongqing Liyan Culture Media was fined 978,000 Chinese yuan for CNY 1.63 million due to the company’s failure to perform its withholding and payment obligations in a timely manner.

The company had used corporate funds to pay its shareholders for expenses unrelated to the production and operation of the company, which totalled CNY 8.15 million between 2019 to 2021. The company’s accounting practices were instantly red flagged by the tax bureau.

As such Bingyan’s company issued an apology to the public and also resigned from several positions that she was holding in the company, namely legal representative, executive director and manager.

Bingyan has been out of work for more than a year no thanks to her agency H&R Century Pictures.

The actress recently made a comeback in the historical romantic comedy My Sassy Princess and has been busy with filming.

The 30-year-old actor is the latest to be hauled up by tax regulators for wrongdoing. Others in the recent past who have been in hot soup over the same issue include Zhao Wei, Viya and Deng Lun.

In fact, the hashtag #Yuan Bingyan’s company fined 978,000 RMB for tax evasion# has topped Weibo’s Hot Search list, racking over 690 million views in July.
