Being relatable

Cardi explained that she doesn’t typically include her personal pain and struggles in her music because she believes the masses may not be able to relate to them. She cited instances where social media backlash occurred and felt that the average person’s response would be, “Girl, shut up, I’ve got work in the morning.”

She expressed her preference for getting her personal grievances out of the way in the introduction of her songs and then focusing on having a good time. She took a similar approach to eating the spicy wings, handling the heat with minimal tears.

Annoying to clean up lyrics

Cardi also discussed her recent collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion on the song “Bongos.” She mentioned the challenges of cleaning up the lyrics for radio play, giving an example of how “Eat this ass like a plum” had to be modified to “Eat it up like a plum,” which was still vetoed. She humorously recounted the alternative suggestion, “Baby, eat these peaches and plums,” and admitted it sounded corny but was necessary for radio.

The 30-year-old said that it was ‘so annoying’ to record the clean version of “Bongos” with Megan Thee Stallion.

Between bites of wings, Cardi B talked about her fascination with war and Franklin D. Roosevelt and expressed her disbelief in aliens. She questioned why aliens would want to invade Earth, humorously stating, “Earth is ghetto.”

In summary, Cardi B’s appearance on Hot Ones featured her eating spicy wings, discussing her approach to music, and sharing her thoughts on various topics, including radio censorship and extraterrestrial life.
