Korean tv stars Lee Chung Ah and Namgoong Min will once again appear together in new drama One Dollar Lawyer.

Namgoong plays the lead in the drama series which features a lawyer who only charges an attorney fee of 1,000 won (about $0.75) despite being an extremely skillful and talented lawyer.

The script for the show is written by Choi Su-jin and Choi Chang-hwan who won the Grand Prize at the 2015 SBS Screenplay Contest.

Namgoong plays a real life hero, Cheon Ji Hoon who goes all out to rescue his clients with no money or connections. He is not afraid to confront the rich and powerful who often use expensive and unscrupulous lawyers to escape the law.

Namgoong Min will also be working with The Veil co-star Kim Ji Eun and Lee Chung Ah’s coming on board was confirmed on September 6. They last worked together in Awaken. Lee Chung Ah’s agency J Wide Company confirmed the reports through Dispatch. It stated that the actress will be joining the new SBS drama.

Lee Chung Ah will play Lee Joo Young in One Dollar Lawyer, a hot-shot lawyer at the Baek Law Firm who believes in justice and doing the right thing. She too sides with the weak and believes strongly that people who do wrong must face the wrath of the law.

Kim Ji Eun will play Baek Ma-ri, who is a presenter at the Judicial Research and Training Institute.

The theme of this show is completely different from the last time the duo worked together in Awaken which was a murder mystery.

The Awaken series, directed by Kim Jung-hyun and written by Shin Yoo-dam, revolves around two police officers as they dig up the secrets of mysterious events that occurred in a village 28 years ago.

One Dollar Lawyer will premiere on September 23 at 10pm KST.
