Man who hanged upside down like a snake in Pasir Ris charged

A man was videoed hanging upside down in a ceiling vent as several police officers arrived at the scene. Netizens who reacted to the video couldn’t help replying with lol (laugh our loud) and shocked emoticons. Many said, “I thought it was a big python!”

The video uploaded on Singapore Incidents’ Facebook page on April 25 started showing what appeared to be a “long object” hanging from the ceiling vent on the bottom floor of a HDB flat. And it was looked like a big snake. You had to look intently to realise that what was in the vent was not a snake, but a man’s arm.

In the video, the man hangs upside down in the air, showing only half of his body. During this period, he screams and struggles constantly. Several policemen around try to pull him out, but the man was stuck tight and could not be freed.

Many people around looked on and exclaimed: “How did he get up there?”

During the period, an Indian man stepped forward to talk to the man, and was persuaded by the police to let him go.

The video has attracted more than 152,000 views so far, and netizens have left messages saying, “I thought it was a snake at first, but I didn’t expect it to be a person”, “This is a snake transformed into a human”, “The live-action Spider-Man invited him to play.” “.

Police said the man was charged in court on Monday but declined to comment further on the incident. The man was identified as Muhammed Nazir Bin Ahmad, 45, according to court documents.

According to 8world the man was in the corridor on the sixth floor of Block 469, Pasir Ris Avenue 6, at about 11.26pm on April 23rd and knocked on the window with a pair of scissors. He also messed up the corridor and yelled, causing public nuisance. Muhammed Nazir has been charged with public nuisance and if convicted, he could be fined up to $2,000, jailed for up to three months, or both.
